Meet Cris Carey
Owner
Cris grew up on an 80-acre Hereford farm in Indiana with many other animals to care for. She learned early on that no matter what, the animals had to be cared for. They don’t know it’s Christmas Day and you want to take the day off – they all still had to be fed before the presents were opened! Cris has been passionate about animals and remembers fondly the farm life where she raised and cared for both family pets and livestock. She also learned the many responsibilities of pet ownership and the fact that sometimes you need backup when things happen in life.
Cris worked 20+ years in various aspects of business operations in her “previous life.” In 2005, she combined that knowledge and experience with her passion and love for animals to start Carey Pet & Home Care.

About Our Sitters
Buddy G.
Edmond
…Since retiring from a dog boarding business he owned for more than 25 years, he now continues to pursue his passion and love for animals as a Pet Sitter for Carey Pet & Home Care.
When Buddy is not pet sitting, he can be found at home cuddling with his own four dogs. In addition to working with dogs, Buddy rode and trained horses for many years. Buddy has a multitude of reasons he loves pet sitting. He loves it because of the variety of breeds and the attitudes of each that he encounters when doing visits. He also enjoys the relationships that he has built with the pets and the many different adventures he has experienced while caring for them.
Buddy believes clients will feel comfortable with him because he is honest, caring, and knows the importance of giving their animals the utmost care. Not only will he deliver the highest level of care to clients’ pets, he will also be respectful of their homes. Buddy believes it is an honor he gets to do something he is so passionate about as a career.
Tina W.
Edmond
…As a child she brought many strays home, even attempting to hide kittens in her bedroom closet. Her parents learned quickly her passion for rescue.
She volunteered for four years with Paws for Life Inc. at the Edmond Animal Shelter, co-founded the Community Cat Coalition of Edmond which concentrates on TNR (trap, neuter, release), for the feral cat populations around the Edmond area.
She has been pet sitting for friends and family for years. Tina is very much looking forward to caring for your fur, feather and scale kids. She will absolutely love and treat your four-legged kids as her own.
Kirby J.
OKC Metro
…For the last 8 years Kirby has been working with animals in various forms. She has worked at doggy daycares, fostered for the Central Oklahoma Humane Society, eventually moved on to graduate Animal Behavior College as a Certified Dog Trainer and actively trained for a year at a dog training business before coming back to pet sitting full time! Kirby currently has two animals; a lab mix named Kaj, and a cat named Dragon!
Over the years Kirby has found caring for pets a true stress reliever, which is why she loves pet sitting. The unconditional affection from a pet is a very healing property that makes every day great! Kirby is confident that you can have peace of mind knowing she will care for your pets as she cares for her own! She treats every animal, from snakes to dogs and everything in-between, with dignity, love, and respect. That goes for home care as well!
Caitlin L.
Edmond
…Her mother was an avid animal rescuer. It didn’t matter what kind of animal it was, if it needed help, she and her mother would drop what they were doing to help. No matter where Caitlin was, she was always around animals. Home just didn’t feel like home pets!
Aside from rescues, her family also had a passion for Chihuahuas and always had at least three at any given time. Caitlin also helped her grandmother at cat shows. Caitlin’s interests outside of pet sitting consists of photography and making dreamcatchers.
Caitlin became interested in pet sitting because she recently started going to college for digital design/web development and can’t have animals at college. Caitlin deeply missed always having animals in her daily life and pet sitting gives her that “pet fix” she needs!
Growing up with different types of animals taught her responsibility, compassion and commitment. Caitlin believes that these qualities will help Carey Pet clients feel comfortable with her caring for their homes and four-legged family members.
Allison T.
North OKC Metro
…She is compassionate about many things in her life, but what stands out the most is her passion for animals. Her love for animals stems back as far as she can remember and is easily seen through her interactions with them.
Allison graduated from Texas Tech University in 2004 with a B.S. in Wildlife Management. She did some seasonal work with wild Rio Grande Turkey in Kansas and the endangered species Lesser-Prairie Chicken in New Mexico. However, she has dedicated the majority of her career to the veterinary medical field.
She owned her own pet sitting business for four years, which included sitting not only dogs and cats, but also horses, wild mountain lions, lynx and bobcats. But she cares for all animals, no matter how big or small, wild or domestic. Allison feels her life would not be as fulfilling if it weren’t for the presence of these divine creatures, including her own cat, Holiday.
Lindsay B.
Yukon/West OKC Metro
…it only made sense that she continued to surround herself with animals as an adult. She has six dogs and four cats of her own but still decided her heart had so much more room to work with animals as well.
In 2016 she started “officially” rescuing and fostering for rescues but after numerous foster-fails, she decided to investigate other animal rescue avenues. She started working at Free To Live Animal Sanctuary in Guthrie and eventually accepted a management position to live on property and take care of 300 animals 24/7. And she plans to one day have a rescue of her very own.
Now Lindsay is excited to move on to the next chapter of pet sitting and can’t wait to love on your babies and treat them as if they are her own!
Kaci M.
Far NW OKC/Deer Creek
…She also has one long-term foster for Dogs on Deployment for a military family serving overseas. Also, during the pandemic, she housed and found forever homes for 63 animals.
Currently, Kaci has four rescue dogs of her own; Icarus Eugene, Schäfer Beau, Arya Boo, and Stanley Zbornak along with three rescue cats; Lucy Furr, Betty Boopsnoot, and Star Leopard. Besides being very involved with rescue, she also worked for a local veterinary hospital before returning to college to become a Speech Language Pathologist.
Kaci cares for all creatures big and small and loves the pure souls of animals. She is an avid puppy yoga practitioner, an animal reiki healer in training and would love to “zen” your pets. Kaci lives with her husband and son in the Deer Creek area and understands how clients would like their homes cared for. She is also a plant whisperer who would love to water your plants!
Alex H.
Central OKC
…This helps him to understand what your dogs are experiencing and adjust the way he interacts with them, ensuring the best treatment possible.
He has three dogs and a cat: two German Shepherd’s named Odin and Frey, a mini long hair dachshund named Daphne, and a cat named Nala. Alex grew up with pets and understands how important it is to trust someone with your pets. Alex would be honored to care for your pets and help ease your anxiety about quality pet care. He looks forward to meeting your pets and providing them the best care possible.
Madison G.
Far NW OKC
…She started out working for a non-profit no-kill rescue organization and quickly moved up to become the Office Manager. She has also worked at veterinary clinics, dog daycare/boarding facilities, and has done in-home pet-sitting. She decided to go back to college a couple of years ago and is looking forward to graduating from the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Oklahoma City Community College.
Madison loves all animals, but she certainly has a soft spot for rescue animals. Madison will go above and beyond to provide exceptional service to your pet as well as give you peace of mind. Carey Pet Clients will know that your pets are well cared for and will receive the love and attention that they deserve.
Maddie N.
SE Edmond/ NE OKC
…Despite a busy college schedule, Maddie sets time apart her passion – rescuing animals. It’s a love that started very early on. Maddie rescued hundreds of animals with her grandmother including cats, dogs, and even a duckling. Maddie continues this today by rescuing dogs from kill shelters and helping her grandmother transport them to new homes. She currently has three of her own pups – an English Bulldog, Sonny; a French Bulldog, Ellie May; and a Staffordshire Terrier, Grace.
Emerson R.
N OKC
…He’s a patient, loving sitter with multiple years of experience. He rescued his own three dogs and is eager to help you with your pet! Communication is key for the best experience between you and your pet. Emerson can train some basic non-verbal commands as well as verbal commands. He will do everything and anything to show your pet love, affection, and companionship while you’re away. He would love to help you by providing your perfect pets some company. You’ll realize why he’s so good at what he does.
Bre L.
Central OKC
